ASEAN SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THAILAND
The Ministry of Education (Singapore) is pleased to offer ASEAN Scholarships to outstanding students for studies in top secondary schools and junior colleges in Singapore, leading to the General Certificate of Education (Advanced) Level (or equivalent) Examination. The scholarships are offered to provide opportunities for the young people of ASEAN to develop themselves to their full potential.
กระทรวง ศึกษาธิการประเทศสิงคโปร์มีความประสงค์มอบทุนการศึกษาอาเซียนแก่นักเรียนที่ เรียนดี เพื่อเข้าศึกษาต่อในโรงเรียนชั้นนำของประเทศสิงคโปร์ ในระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้นและมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย เพื่อปูทางไปสู่การสอบประกาศนียบัตรการศึกษาทั่วไป (ระดับสูง เทียบเท่าม.6) การมอบทุนการศึกษาอาเซียนมีขึ้นเพื่อมอบโอกาสแก่คนรุ่นใหม่ในประเทศอาเซียนได้พัฒนาศักยภาพของตนอย่างเต็มที่
Scholars enter Singapore schools at Secondary 3 or Pre-University 1 and will sit for the GCE ‘A’ Level Examination or equivalent examination at the end of Pre-University 2.
Those who score good grades in the GCE ‘A’ Level Examination can continue their undergraduate studies at the National University of Singapore (NUS) or Nanyang Technological University (NTU) on scholarships or bursaries that the universities administer.
· Applicants must be nationals of Thailand
· Applicants for the Secondary Three Scholarship should be born in or after 1991 and must have performed well in Mathayom 2 or 3 with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3
· Applicants for the Pre-University Scholarship should be born in or after 1989 and must have performed well in Mathayom 4 or 5 with a GPA of at least 3
· Proficiency in English and a good record of participation in extra-curricular activities would be an advantage
· Allowance of S$2,200 (Secondary) or S$2,400 (Pre-University) per annum with accommodation (board & lodging)
· S$400 (Secondary) or S$500 (Pre-University) settling-in allowance (once-only)
· Exemption from school fees
· Payment of GCE ‘O’/ ‘A’ Level (or equivalent) Examination fee (where applicable and once-only)
· Return economy air passage to and from Singapore at the start and end of the scholarship term
· Subsidised medical benefits
· 24-hour accident & insurance cover

Requests for forms by post to the Singapore Embassy must be accompanied by a stamped self-addressed envelope (at least 16 cm ´ 23 cm).

Short-listed applicants will be invited to sit for selection tests in May/June and attend an interview in July/August 2007. Successful candidates will arrive in Singapore in October 2007 to attend a 3-month Intensive English Language Course before joining Singapore schools in January 2008.

นักเรียนทุนที่เข้าเรียนในระดับมัธยมศึกษาปีที่สามและมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ห้า จะทำการสอบประกาศนียบัตรการศึกษาทั่วไปช่วงสิ้นสุดการศึกษาระดับมัธยมศึกษา ปีที่หก
ผู้ที่ทำคะแนนดีในการสอบประกาศนียบัตรการศึกษาทั่วไประดับสูง สามารถศึกษาต่อระดับปริญญาตรีที่มหาวิทยาลัยแห่งชาติสิงคโปร์ หรือ มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีนันยาง โดยรับทุนการศึกษาหรือเงินอุดหนุนการศึกษาที่มหาวิทยาลัยสองแห่งมอบให้
คุณสมบัติของผู้ขอสมัครรับทุนการศึกษา
· เป็นผู้มีสัญชาติไทย
· ผู้ขอสมัครรับทุนการศึกษาระดับมัธยมศึกษาปีที่สาม ควรเป็นผู้ที่เกิดในปีพ.ศ. 2534 หรือหลังจากนั้น และต้องมีผลการศึกษาที่ดีในระดับมัธยมศึกษาปีที่สอง หรือมัธยมศึกษาปีที่สามด้วยเกรดเฉลี่ยอย่างน้อย 3.00
· ผู้ขอสมัครรับทุนการศึกษาระดับมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ห้า ควรเป็นผู้ที่เกิดในปีพ.ศ. 2532 หรือหลังจากนั้น และต้องมีผลการศึกษาที่ดีในระดับมัธยมศึกษาปีที่สี่ หรือมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ห้า ด้วยเกรดเฉลี่ยอย่างน้อย 3.00
· เป็นผู้มีความสามารถทางภาษาอังกฤษ และหากมีการเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมนอกหลักสูตร จะได้รับการพิจารณาเป็นพิเศษ
รายละเอียดของทุนการศึกษา
· เงินค่าขนย้าย (มอบให้ครั้งเดียว) 400 เหรียญสิงคโปร์ หรือประมาณ 9,300 บาท
· ได้รับการยกเว้นค่าเล่าเรียน
· ค่าธรรมเนียมการสอบประกาศนียบัตรการศึกษาทั่วไประดับสูง (มอบให้ครั้งเดียวแก่ผู้มีสิทธิสอบ)
· ตั๋วเครื่องบินไป-กลับสิงคโปร์ มอบให้ก่อนและหลังสิ้นสุดทุนการศึกษา
· อุดหนุนค่ารักษาพยาบาล
· ประกันอุบัติเหตุตลอด 24 ชั่วโมง
ทุนการศึกษานี้ไม่มีเงื่อนไขผูกมัด

ผู้ สนใจสมัครรับทุนการศึกษาที่ต้องการรับใบสมัครทางไปรษณีย์จากสถานทูตสิงคโปร์ ต้องแนบจดหมายจ่าหน้าซองถึงตนเองพร้อมติดแสตมป์มาด้วย (ขนาดซองขั้นต่ำคือ 16 ซมx 23 ซม.)

ผู้สมัครที่ได้รับการคัดเลือกส่วนหนึ่งเท่านั้นจะได้รับเชิญให้มาสอบข้อ เขียนในเดือนพฤษภาคมหรือเดือนมิถุนายน และสอบสัมภาษณ์ในเดือนกรกฎาคม หรือเดือนสิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2550 ผู้ที่สอบผ่านข้อเขียนและการสัมภาษณ์มีกำหนดเดินทางไปสิงคโปร์ในเดือนตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2550 เพื่อเข้าเรียนภาษาอังกฤษหลักสูตรเข้มข้น เป็นเวลา 3 เดือน ก่อนที่จะเริ่มเรียนในเดือนมกราคม พ.ศ. 2551
