Course Level: It is open to undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and post-doctoral students and scholars and to academic staff.

Eligibility: Must be nationals of the Third Countries targeted by the project: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Mongolia, Sri Lanka,Thailand, The Philippines,Vietnam.
-12-month rule Must not have resided nor have carried out their main activity (studies, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in any of the eligible European countries at the time of submitting their application to the partnership.
-This rule does not apply to TG 3 candidates.
-Other scholarships Must not have already benefited from a scholarship for the same type of mobility under an Erasmus Mundus Action 2 project.
-Must not have already benefited from another scholarship under this project.
-Satisfy specific eligibility criteria according to the three target group.
Scholarship Open for International Students: Scholarship is open for the students of Asian countries.
Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: Group A scholarships are available for nationals of: Cambodia, Myanmar, Mongolia,Vietnam and Laos. Group B scholarships are available for nationals of: Sri Lanka, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines and Thailand.
Scholarship Description: AREAS provides scholarships for students, researchers and staff from the Third Countries targeted by the project (Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, The Philippines, Vietnam) in order to study, do research, training or teaching at one of the European Partner Universities (Host Universities).
Objective of Scholarship : To support financially students from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, The Philippines, Vietnam.
Number of awards offered :Scholarships will be distributed on two cohorts of applicants selected respectively in the year 2012 and 2013 for mobilities starting in the same year.
Tenure of award: Duration from 1 to 34 months, depending on the level and type of mobility
Value:Selected grantees will receive a monthly subsistence allowance paid by the Partnership for the duration of the mobility period:
Undergraduate-1,000 euro,Master-1,000 euro, PhD-1,500 euro, Post-doc-1,800 euro, Staff-2,500 euro.Included in the scholarship, the Partnership will also:
- Pay for the grantees’ travel costs.
- Provide grantees with a high quality individual insurance coverage on health, travel, accident for the duration of the mobility period.
- Waive all university fees at the Host universities. Participants at any level will not be required to pay any fees to the Host universities. Exchange students will continue paying their fees at their university of origin.

Notification:The lists are published on this web site and all applicants are notified by email of the selection outcomes within three months from the Call for Application closing (1stCall for applications). The lists are also submitted to the Education Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) of the European Commission.
