Rotary Foundation offers Scholarship for International Water and Sanitation Professionals at UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education, Netherlands 2013-14

Eligibility:Scholarship applicants must:
-Be admitted to UNESCO?IHE in one of the following programs (joint programs are not eligible):
MSc in Municipal Water and Infrastructure
MSc in Water Management
MSc in Water Science and Engineering
-Live or work near a Rotary club/district eligible to participate .
-Not be a Rotarian, spouse or lineal descendant of a Rotarian, or an employee of a club, district, or other Rotary entity .
-Return to their home country after completing their studies.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Students who Live or work near a Rotary club/district are eligible to participate.

Scholarship Description: The Rotary Scholarships for Water and Sanitation Professionals have been designed to promote long-term productive relationships between Rotarians and highly skilled water and sanitation professionals in their communities. Rotary scholars will benefit from the support they receive through regular contact with sponsoring Rotarians from their home country and the opportunity to interact with Rotarians in the Netherlands.

Number of awards offered:The Rotary Foundation will provide grants to Rotary clubs and districts to select and sponsor 8 students each year.

Value: TRF awards scholarships in the amount of €25,000. Funding to cover additional costs (including international travel) related to participation in the academic program will be coordinated by UNESCO-IHE.

Other Benefits :In addition, Rotary Foundation alumni are part of an extensive network of fellow Rotary scholarship recipients and Rotarians worldwide. Becoming involved with a local Rotary club and the alumni association allows scholars to stay connected to Rotary’s global community and resources.

Selection Criteria:Scholarship recipients are expected to demonstrate a good knowledge of Rotary and a solid commitment to participating in activities and service with their sponsors.

How to Apply: Completed applications must be received by TRF from sponsor Rotarians no later than 15 July of the year in which studies begin.
- Scholarships are awarded in the order in which TRF receives complete applications until the scholarships budget is expended. Early application submission is strongly encouraged.
-Applications must be completed electronically or typed, not handwritten.
