Nano-Optics and Optoelectronics Research Laboratory at Masdar Institute of Science and Technology has multiple positions for MSc and PhD students interested in optics and photonics. Full financial support including all tuition fees, medical insurance, housing, travel expenses, laptops and cost of living allowances is provided. These grants are available to students from all countries.
Study Subject(s): The students will pursue research in the following areas of photonics: Silicon photonics and integrated optics; Electronic-photonic integrated circuits; on-chip optical interconnects; Optical sensors; Chalcogenide glass-based infrared light emitting devices; Thin film SiGe solar cells; Chalcogenide glass-based infrared light emitting devices.
Course Level: The position is open to pursue MSc and PhD program.

Eligibility:
-Undergraduate degree in engineering, physics, or related field (for MSc admissions);

Scholarship Description: Microsystems Engineering Program at Masdar Institute in Abu Dhabi has multiple open positions at Master’s and Ph.D. level for students interested in pursuing research in the following areas of optics and photonics:

Graduate students can work on design, fabrication and/or characterization, according to their preferences.
Masdar Institute is a research-driven, graduate institution, developed in cooperation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (WITH) in the US. The Institute is located in Abu Dhabi in Masdar City, a carbon neutral and zero waste sustainable city, powered solely by alternative energy. Masters and PhD students take classes and pursue research in their selected fields, and theses are submitted at the end of the program. While students and faculty represent over 30 different nationalities, all instruction is conducted in English.
Duration of award(s): These scholarships for international students are offered for 2 years for M.Sc students and 4 years for PhD students.
