Employer:Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry/Level:Postdoctoral
Outstanding and enthusiastic researchers will have an opportunity to dissect the roles and mechanisms of the bacterial condensin complex and work on fundamental aspects of chromosome segregation in bacteria.
The group already uses a variety of techniques such as protein biochemistry (including crystallography), genetics and live cell imaging, and aims to establish high-throughput technologies based on next-generation sequencing for the study of chromosome organization.
Requirements
Candidates are expected to be driven by a strong interest in chromosome biology and bacterial cell biology. Extensive experience in optical microscopy and training in molecular biology and microbiology are highly desirable. Additional skills in any of the following areas will be an advantage: next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics, DNA methylation mapping. Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
